1/2 cup cold milk
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 pint heavy cream
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt
**NOTE- once again, you can add many different things to this basic ice cream recipe:
1/2 cup- Carob or chocolate powder
2 cups chopped strawberries
1 cup blended mango
1/4 cup maple syrup and 1/2 cup pecans
1 cup chopped peaches
1/2 cup pineapple and 1/2 cup strawberry
1/2 cup chopped pistachios and 3 drops green food colouring
In a medium bowl, stir together cold milk, vanilla, condensed milk, salt and any fruit of nuts you wish to add. Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat heavy cream with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Fold milk mixture into whipped cream.
Pour into shallow 2 quart dish, cover and freeze for 4 hours, stirring once after 2 hours or when edges start to harden. Serve or store in an airtight container up to 10 days.
