wjkk wjkf,

Sadh Sangat jee i need ur help. i had a discussion on jhutha Suchaa. and my family says thatits not good doing that touching even the plate jhuthey fingers. not even touching i was told that. but my parents and sisters say that these aren't manners.

so what should my answer be. i am not yet amrit dhaaree but i'm wearing all my kakaars.

sadh sangat help me pls i'm just 15. :-)

Dear Damandeep Singh,

From a hygienic point of view, it is best that someone with washed hands handles or serves food. This simple step goes far to avoid spread of germs and reduces chances of illness being passed between a sick and healthy individual. Further the living/eating habits of some are not the same as others.

Consider also that touching a common plate with your fingers smeared with the food and saliva just eaten will leave residue that another person may get on their hands or that food when serving themselves or someone else and you can see how easy it can be for illness to spread.

The spirit of sharing food amongst Khalsa, as amongst any close knit group of members does not preclude, in certain circumstances, serving oneself or others with “juttheyâ€
